ROBIN MURIEL GRABOWSKI

On Thursday, April 9, 2020, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer, Robin Muriel Grabowski (Squance, Glaskin) passed away, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Robin was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Squance; second husband, Tom Grabowski; daughter, Virginia; and parents, Harold and Marjorie. She is survived by her children, Justin Squance, Kim Belinda Squance and Jolene Bird (Chris); grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Chris), Carlee (Sabastian), Victoria (Todd), Garret (Brielle) and Lucas (Kat); great-granddaughter, Daisy; and many loved and treasured family and friends, including Joan, Elenore, Irene and Larry.
Mum was born March 9, 1950 in Perth, Western Australia. She was raised next to the Indian Ocean, and had an amazing love of the ocean, swimming and sailing. In 1969 she met a Canadian farm boy from Grandview, who was in Australia working, and fell in love, got married, and moved to Canada. Robin spent many years raising her family in Winnipeg, and running the family business with Bob until his sudden passing in 2004.
Robin was blessed to have another chance at love when she met and married Tom, who she adored more than anyone could imagine. They travelled the world, spent winters in Arizona where they enjoyed warm winters with so many new friends, and settled in Paradise Village to enjoy life and each other's love.
Mum had an incredible love of cooking, crafting, knitting and sewing. She spent countless hours teaching and sharing these loves with her kids and grandchildren. Her smile and amazing sense of humour will be remembered by everyone who knew and loved her.
Unfortunately, due to current circumstances, a memorial service and interment cannot be held at this time. A service will be planned in the future.
In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation are appreciated.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Robin was my dearest friend in the years I lived in Winnipeg. Many cups of tea at her table when our kids were little. And after I moved back to NB, we visited in Winnipeg, as well as here in NB, when I got to meet Tom. She welcomed my son into her home one summer when he was a forestry student working in northern Manitoba. His off days were spent with her. We last spoke in the fall of 2019, after Tom’s death. It was like we’d never been so far apart. I trust that her presence will remain with you, in marvellous ways. Love never dies. ❤️ Thank you for taking such good care of her in her last weeks. You gave her joy. - Posted by: Alice (Pitre) Finnamore (Friend) on: May 16, 2020

  • So sorry to hear of Robin's passing. We met her and Tom in Towerpoint RV Resort where we also had a park model, and then found out we were from the same province. Such a lovely couple. Always smiling and just full of love for each other and for life. They both live on in our hearts and our memories. - Posted by: Ken and Connie Hemmett (snowbird friends) on: Apr 19, 2020

  • I was blessed to know and serve with Robin through Christian Women's Clubs in Winnipeg for many years. We travelled to conferences together, shared Bible studies and many hours of laughter. Robin holds a warm place in my heart and I was gratified to connect with her again when we moved to Paradise Village. Her ready Smile and slight accent will be sorely missed. - Posted by: Barbara and Henry Derksen (Friend) on: Apr 18, 2020

  • I am sad to learn of Robin’s death and sorry for your loss. I am a second cousin to Tom. I had the privilege and blessing to marry Robin and Tom when I was the priest at St. Catherine Anglican Church in Birds Hill. Robin continued to worship at St. Catherine while I was there. I was also blessed to see their relationship filled with love and happiness. May God’s love and grace bring you peace at this most difficult time.
