NELLIE GRABOWSKI
(nee ROZANKOWSKI)
She was predeceased in 2007 by her husband of 67 years, Mike. She was also predeceased by her mom and dad, sisters, Francis, Mary, Karel, and brother John. She reunites with them now to find her comfort and peace.
Left to cherish her memory are son Jim (Barb), daughter Carole (Paul), grandsons, Paul-Jamie (Sarah), Justin, Chad (Roxanne and sons, Tristin and Austin), and David (Jeanna).
Mom was born in Winnipeg Beach, MB on June 18, 1919, to Mary and John Rozankowski, the middle child of the family. She met and married Dad there and they worked as partners in their Barber and Beauty Shop in Winnipeg Beach for more than 30 years. They moved to Winnipeg in 1971, where Mom worked in the Cosmetics department at Eaton's for a number of years. After retirement Mom and Dad enjoyed travelling to Hawaii, Mexico, Texas, Florida and of course to the West Coast to visit Mom's family. Family was very special to Mom. Every birthday, anniversary or holiday was her chance to get us together, celebrate and of course have one of Mom's wonderful meals. Many special memories were made at her home in Winnipeg and out at the cottage near Winnipeg Beach. Her grandsons were her pride and joy and she spent as much time with them as possible. Along with gardening, needlepoint, knitting, crafts, cooking/baking, fishing and boating, Mom also enjoyed oil painting and much of her artwork adorns our walls. We will miss you Mom but we know you are at peace now, the peace you so deserve.
The family would like to thank all the staff at West Park Manor for their care, kindness, and compassion during some difficult times.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for Mom will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Nellie's name may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
