MARION JOY WRIGHT
May 18, 1928 - April 10, 2020
She is survived by her two children: daughter, Carol (Doug); son, Richard (Sherry); grandchildren, Becka, Jonathon, Lindsey and Kyle; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Jeanne; and numerous cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Anne and Philip.
The first few years of Marion's life consisted of time spent surrounded by family in Melita, Manitoba. She later moved with her mother to Winnipeg. There she grew up while attending various schools in central Winnipeg. This is where she met her longtime friend, Elizabeth Warren. This friendship would last for more than 80 plus years. It was through Betty that she met and married Lloyd Wright. Marion's early life was heavily influenced by her mother's Welsh heritage. It wasn't until her later life that she and Lloyd would visit her extended family when they visited Canada, and in Wales on several occasions.
Marion had many successes in her life. At the forefront was a successful marriage of more than 70 years, and the creation of her family of two children, Carol and Rick, who have extended the family with their own children and grandchildren. For more than 30 years, Marion worked for the Hudson's Bay Company. It was there that she worked in a variety of positions while rising through the ranks, until retirement in her early 60s. Through her efforts she helped bring stability and security to the family.
After retirement, she and Lloyd travelled to a variety of places of interest, in particular her family home in Llangefni, Wales. There she reconnected with family, meeting her many distant cousins. Her life was all but more than complete, or should we say, it had come full circle.
For those that really knew Marion, you could expect a direct answer, no frills. One moment she was shy and unassuming, and the next an explosive opinionated force to be reckoned with. But one thing was for sure, she was alive and there was never a dull moment. Her family was important to her and she would protect them with her all. Just ask her son-in-law!
Her family thanks Brigit of Home Instead Senior Care for the compassion, care and friendship she gave to Marion. She was the bright shining light in Marion's world the last several months.
Marion lived the last years of her life at Brightwater Senior Living of Tuxedo. Her family would like to express their gratitude to the nursing staff and aides of The Arbor for their dedicated care.
Interment next to Lloyd has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.

To Marion's son Richard and daughter Carol and Doug and their extended families. It was always such a pleasure to see Marion and Lloyd coming to visit Carol and family, they always had time for a quick chat over the fence. Both were so kind. Sincere condolences to all the family. Dear Rick, Carol and all your families, I was so saddened to read about the loss of your mom. I also found out from my brother that you lost your father last year as well. I will always remember both of them as such a nice couple. I don't think I ever saw either one of them without a smile on their face. May all the wonderful memories you have keep them alive in your hearts always. Rest In Peace - Posted by: Donna Beyak Passante (Friend and old neighbor) on: Apr 18, 2020
