AGNES TURKO (NETTIE)
Born: Jun 22, 1946

June 22, 1946 - April 15, 2020
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Amel; children, Jarrett and Curtis (Ashley); grandchildren, Benjamin, Peyton, Jameson and Olivia; as well as her brother, Dave (Fran); and many cherished nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her sisters, Anne and Barbara.
Agnes met her future husband, Amel, while teaching in Alonsa, MB. Amel and Agnes were married for 52 years. Once her children were born, she dedicated her time to raising her family. She was actively involved in supporting sons in sports like soccer, baseball, bowling, basketball, enjoying family time playing crokinole and cribbage. Agnes enjoyed visiting her extended family from the West Coast to Ontario, and dedicated her spare time to the church. She enjoyed listening to music, puzzles, watching hockey, CFL and game shows. Agnes cherished every visit from her children and her grandchildren, and was always buying little gifts for them.
Agnes' faith and love of her family while battling MS were instrumental in her earning the title of "strongest person I know".
The family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the homecare staff, for all the wonderful years of care and friendship. Agnes and the Turko family are truly appreciative.
Due to the current health crisis, a future memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MS Society of Canada.

As a relatively new attender at Abundant Life Baptist Church (15 months), I briefly spoke to Netti and/or Amel on several occasions after the Sunday services. Now, having read the obituary, I have learned a little more about you and the long battle with Netti's illness you have have walked through together. My sincerest condolences as you grieve Netti's absence. Lord grant you and your family peace in the coming days. - Posted by: Brian Stimpson (Brother-in-Christ) on: Apr 29, 2020

So so sad to hear. She was one of my favorite Ladies. We had many conversations over the fence and she was honest and wise and caring. She helped me grow up. I remember Her and Amel dancing at my wedding. My Mom and Dad will be happy to have her as neighbor again in Heaven. Sincere condolences to the Turko Family. Nettie and I were friends when we both lived in the Clarkleigh area. We did keep in touch for some years after, Last saw her at a cousins wedding, she was in a wheelchair, but feisty as ever. And so positive! Bless her! Sincere sympathy to her family. Audrey Miller - Posted by: Audrey Miller (Friend ) on: Apr 25, 2020
