LOUISE TALLMAN

Loving wife of Harvey, mother of Carol (Garry), Victoria, BC, Larry (Claire), San Jose del Cabo, MX, Bob (Cathy), Winnipeg, MB, and Joy, Winnipeg, MB. She leaves behind eight grandchildren, Michael and Brett, Crystal, Matthew and Marc, Devan, Alida and Claire. Mom had one great-grandson, Ellis.
Louise was married to her first and only love, Harvey for 71 years. They met when she was a teenager and Harvey was working for her father's business. Their marriage was full of love, caring and challenges as Harvey built a small auto dismantling business into Princess Auto, a retail juggernaut in its field. It was Louise who always steadied the ship and kept things working at home. Shirley Rottcher was like her third daughter and for many years helped steer the ship and kept their home running like a well oiled machine. Louise had a way of making each of her children feel like they were her favourite. In fact each of them were her favourite and we knew it! She had a genuine love of animals and there were always dogs in her life while her family grew up. Even in her later years she always took the time to stop and pet them.
Louise was an artist. She loved sewing, hairdressing, needlepoint, cooking and home decorating. She had a flair for recognizing beauty. Oh how she loved to travel! Whether with friends or just the two of them. They took special joy in time spent on cruises and tours to far away places. Hawaii was one of her favourites and we were all entertained by the wild Hawaiian parties she loved to throw.
As she battled Dementia in her final years she was cared for by Marian Candelaria and Irene Climacosa who provided love and compassion. They did an amazing job and their wonderful care extended our time with her. We will always be grateful for their care and dedication.
A private graveside service was held at the Rosh Pina Cemetery. The Tallman family will hold a Celebration of Life, to remember and honour Louise when the threat of larger gatherings is behind us.
