Phyllis, my neighbour across the hall from me was never too busy to call out for me to enter when I knocked at her door. She would invite me to sit for a minute and we caught up on each other's lives that day. She was an excellent listener, and always provided positive remarks concerning problems. I never left her suite without somehow feeling better about things. She had a lovely sense of humour. When she had to go to hospital and then ultimately move to a nursing home, she was accepting of each stage of her life, and had only good things to say about the home, and the staff. I wonder if when we are in the midst of the various interactions we have with people each day, we would be more aware of how precious they are to us and our growth as human beings. Perhaps we would think to tell them at that time, instead of waiting to say "Phyllis, you were one of the good ones! Bless you." - Posted by: Gail Singleton (Friend and Neighbour) on: May 09, 2020
