LUCILLE MARIE ROSE GOOD
(nee PINETTE)
September 28, 1937 - April 30, 2020

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of our beautiful sister, aunt and friend, at River Park Gardens Personal Care Home. Lucille was born in Ste. Rose du Lac, MB, to Onesime and Augusta Pinette.
Lucille will be missed and lovingly remembered by her sister, parent and friend, Louise Drayson; niece and caregiver Sherron McLean (Bill); nephew and caregiver Duane Drayson (Roselene); Gloria Drayson, and nieces and nephews, Jeannie Bauer (Jurgen), Carol Wass (Ed), Larry Pinette (Sue), Brenda Mitenko (Zen), Janice Neufeld (Wayne), Denise Drzewiecki (Steve), Eric Pinette (Mary) and several great-nieces and nephews.
Lucille was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Raymond and Rene; twin sisters, Jeannie and Marie; brother-in-law and parent Lloyd Drayson; sister-in-law Hermina Pinette; nephews, Darryl Drayson and Reg Pinette; and special great-niece Heather Swain.
Lucy was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was inflicted at an early age with rheumatoid arthritis but that did not alter her outlook on life. She fought through many adversities and pain but very seldom complained, being such a positive, determined individual, always seeing the best in people, giving support and encouragement and most importantly greeting people with her loving smile.
In her early years, Lucille played ball, curled, bowled and loved to dance. Many a dance found her and her partner alone on the dance floor, jiving, while the others watched the beautiful show. Travelling was also one of her passions and she was fortunate to enjoy many wonderful vacations. At times her lack of mobility hindered her from doing long walks so she would just find a bench to sit and enjoy people/scenery watching until her friends rejoined her. She enjoyed a good game of cribbage, played bingo, enjoyed the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra Pops, loved her time at the Goldeyes games, and took in the odd casino trip.
Lucille's career started as bookkeeper for Atkins Ford Dealership in Neepawa, MB, and later at Decker's Ford Dealership in Rivers, MB. In 1964 she joined RBC Royal Bank where she retired after 30 years of dedicated service from the position of Audit Officer at 220 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. After retirement Lucille enjoyed the camaraderie at the RBC Pensioners' gatherings. She was a member of the Norwood Legion and appreciated visits from the visiting teams of both the Norwood and Rockwood Legions.
Lucille appreciated and looked forward to all family and friends' visits, telephone calls and good wishes, especially in the last year and a half. Special thanks to her dear friends Bonnie and Elaine who never faltered in their weekly visits. Thank you to the staff at Poseidon and River Park Gardens Personal Care Homes for your kindness, gentle care and compassion shown to Lucille and her family. Many of the staff became like family to her and she appreciated the wonderful care she received as well as those who took time to have short conversations with her.
Due to the COVID 19 situation, a service will not be held at this time. Cremation has taken place with interment at Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa, MB, at a later date.
If you care to make a donation in Lucille's memory, please consider The Arthritis Society, 100A-1465 Buffalo Place, Winnipeg, MB R3T 1L8, Heart & Stroke Foundation of MB, 1379 Kenaston Blvd., Winnipeg, MB R3P 2T5, or Siloam Mission, 300 Princess St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3.
