October 27, 1942 - April 27, 2020
Peacefully our beloved Peter, husband, father and grandpa, passed away on April 27, 2020.
Peter was a loving and caring man who touched all who knew him in a positive way.
He will be greatly missed by his adoring wife, Katia; his children, Peter, Gina and Daniela (Brad); and his beloved grandchildren, Rebecca, Carter, Alex, George, Peter and Zahra. He is survived by his brother, Hans (Irene); and nieces and nephews.
Born in Schroda, Poland on October 27, 1942, he was the youngest of three siblings. His family immigrated to Canada (Lethbridge, Alberta) when Peter was 12.
Teaching was Peter's first career. He spoke with fond memories of that precious time in his life. He loved teaching very much, so it was a hard decision to leave that profession to begin a new phase in his life, in the insurance industry with Sun Life of Canada. This path allowed him to continue his passion for helping people while pursuing his education in financial planning. His diligence, attention to detail, and uppermost, his empathy and care for his clients, enabled him to rise quickly through the ranks at Sun Life. His expertise took him to numerous managerial positions across Canada, mentoring and advising in his own special way. After many successful years with Sun Life, Peter built a successful independent business with his family by his side. He never lost the joy he had working with clients and advising them on their current and future financial needs. It is difficult to express the impact Peter had, and the vast number of people he touched. His openness and sincerity drew people to him. He always made time to listen. Peter cared and enriched the lives of all who knew him.
Peter and Katia shared a deep passion and love for each other, their children, and their precious grandchildren. They travelled around the world together, sharing wonderful memories and adventures. Peter was a man with a huge love of life and family. He taught us well. His passing is a loss to all of us. His beautiful smile is forever in our hearts.
Due to current circumstances, there will not be a formal funeral service. A private family service will take place at a later date.
We would like to thank the staff at the Tuxedo Villa for their help during the past few months.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Parkinson Canada.
