RAMSAY CAMERON DAVID CLARK JR.
1952 - 2020
He was predeceased by his mom Elizabeth; and father Ramsay Sr.; and survived by his wife Lynda; children, Lindsay and Matthew; sisters Janette and Ann; and his wee dog Charlie.
Born February 12, 1952, in the town of Irvine, Scotland, Ramsay moved to Winnipeg, Canada, at the age of 18. He met his wife Lynda in Winnipeg and the two moved to Regina where his two children Lindsay and Matthew were born. He then returned to Winnipeg where Ramsay had resided since. Ramsay's illustrious career in construction began at Dominion Construction. He rose in rank to later become President of his own construction company and, most recently, Regional Manager for Ledcor Construction Ltd. Ramsay was a well respected member of Winnipeg's construction industry and his long list of contributions include the construction of Shaw Park and Bell MTS Arena. He loved his job and worked right up until his passing. Ramsay also loved his homeland and made numerous pilgrimages back to Scotland with family. He was a true Scotsman who wasn't afraid to let loose in a kilt, which he donned on multiple occasions. Ramsay was the life of the party and could light up any room with laughter. He had a knack for seeing the lighter side of life and wasn't afraid to laugh at himself. He had a great sense of humour and was always the center of attention among young and old alike. As Ramsay grew in age, he never lost his youth. He was adventurous and spontaneous and enjoyed every moment of life with friends and family. Along with being a beloved husband and brother, Ramsay was also an adoring father. His children are blessed to have so many cherished memories of times with Dad. Ramsay shared adventures all over the world with his daughter Lindsay; and was a mentor to his son Matt, whom he called his best friend. He will live on as their hero forever.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and nurses Ramsay was able to charm at the Grace Hospital. Their kindness and laughter will not be forgotten and we are grateful for their support through all of our grief.
Ramsay has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family is accepting donations to Habitat for Humanity.

Was shocked to hear of Ramsay's passing through the Winnipeg Construction Association. Worked on various construction projects with Ramsay over the years. The Canada Building in downtown Winnipeg was especially challenging as the building was a 100 year old + retro-fit. Ramsay was always in good humor even though life is never perfect. His Scottish accent was was always recognizable. Unfortunate how life goes at times. Hope fully we will meet again on the other side of the great divide. - Posted by: Garry Palahitski (co-worker ) on: Jan 18, 2021

I am among many who are so saddened that we will not have a chance to work with Ramsay again, or enjoy his smile, jocularity and great sense of humour. What a tremendous loss. Sending love and strength, JJ - Posted by: Jacqueline Jasinski (Friend & Colleague) on: Dec 09, 2020

I worked with Ramsay on only one project for a few months of time, but it was enough to feel like he was my friend. He was always approachable, had that happy little grin on his face, and no matter what the situation, he would make you feel at ease in talking with him. His departure will leave a gap of sadness to those that worked alongside him. Even though his passing was a few months ago, my sincere condolences to the family. - Posted by: Dean Schilling (Colleague through work) on: Sep 15, 2020

Have known Ramsay since growing up in Irvine, spent many wonderful times playing football, at school and exploring Eggy woods together just across from his home in Girdle Toll. Even although Ramsay left many years ago for his life in Canada he was always in my thoughts. One day nearly 40 years later a knock at my door and there stood Ramsay and and his family, to be honest he was so easy to recognise and we managed a couple of games of golf together on his subsequent visits back to his homeland. Will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. RIP my friend. - Posted by: Gordon Lawriie (True friend for life) on: May 24, 2020

I just heard the news of Ramsay’s passing. Still so hard to believe such news of a live and vibrant soul whom has casted a patent in all our memories. Full of life, LOTS of laughter, and a very smart man. Yes, definitely always THE life of the party at work, and everybody LOVED his company, his jokes, and his stories! Trudy one of a kind, and one of the most memorable people I have ever worked with in my career. I can remember his greeting to me every time he phoned me: “Mr Cameron...” to which I happily replied: “Mr Clark...” We’d crack Scotsman jokes back and forth. I will miss him, as surely will MANY others in the constitution industry. My most respectful condolences to the family. Your dad, husband and brother was the best. First Class guy... RIP Ramsay... - Posted by: James Cameron (Friend) on: May 18, 2020

Condolences to the family of a wonderful and funny man who made everyone laugh. He had a great laugh and once he got you laughing or you got him laughing, there was no stopping him. From playing football with him or against him, it was always a joke. He was a man who endeared himself to everyone he knew. When there was a party planned, you could pretty much count on Ramsey to be there. From telling jokes to the odd time listening to him do a 'Karaoke' bit, you couldnt get enough of the man.. His all round presence will be surely missed for years to come. We will all be missing a true mate, a fantastic bloke. Yes we all have memories of him and we will always have a story to tell, but it would be better if all these funny events could be told with him there. In all that knew him, he will be in our hearts forever. R.I.P. Ramsey... - Posted by: john baillie (friend) on: May 11, 2020

So very saddened to hear the news of Ramsay's passing. My husband, Guenter Schaub, introduced us many years ago where they once worked for Dominion Construction together. Ramsay always met us with a huge smile and had a joke or two to share. Perhaps Guenter and Ramsay are sharing a beer once more!
