RHODA LOUISE RIDLEY
December 3, 1936 - May 12, 2020

Our beloved aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt and sister-in-law passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at Palliative Care Riverview Health Centre, Winnipeg.
Rhoda was born on December 3, 1936, to Albert and Rhoda Ridley and was raised in Middlechurch, Manitoba.
She is survived by and will forever be remembered by her sister-in-law Rilla Ridley; seven nieces, Debbie Buckingham (Ken), Shelley King (John), Cindy Boss (Don), Laura Reeder (Richard), Linda Ridley (Terry), Cheryl Ridley-Callis, Karyn Ridley-Crone; nine great-nieces and great-nephews, two great-great-nieces and three great-great-nephews. Rhoda was predeceased by her parents, her sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Charlie Gessner, and her brothers, Al and Ken Ridley.
Rhoda had an interesting and varied career. Her work life began at Royal Bank of Canada in Winnipeg, followed by a stint in California, returning to Winnipeg to work at Atomic Energy in Pinawa and finally a long and successful career with Winnipeg Photo where she rose to the position of Office Manager before retiring.
Throughout her life, Rhoda formed many strong and lasting friendships including Eleanor (Jackie) Weber (deceased), Edna Ripley, Lou Proven, Len and Pat Fidkalo, Hy Kraitberg (Terri), Hazel Snowdon, Doreen Sims, Myrna Bobrowich and countless others. Her friends meant the world to her and we, her family, appreciate the love, support and friendship each of you extended to her both before and during her illness.
First and foremost, Rhoda was devoted to family. She and her sister Joyce could spend endless hours browsing in Selkirk. She thought the sun rose and set on her brother Al and she selflessly dedicated countless hours to the well-being of her brother Ken ensuring that all of his needs were met. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion.
Rhoda loved to travel. Her many memorable trips included England, Europe, South America, Africa and Australia. She made the most of her employment with Winnipeg Photo and had some amazing photographs of her travels.
A very special thank you to the doctors and staff at Palliative Care Riverview Health Centre and, in particular, social worker Salina for the compassion, care and support they provided to Rhoda during these challenging times.
A memorial service will be held when physical distancing restrictions due to COVID-19 are lifted.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to a charity of choice.

Beautiful memories are silently
kept of an Aunt we loved dearly
and will never forget.
