(nee WINGERT)
She was predeceased by her husband John and son Donald Simister.
She is survived by children, Sharon Russell and Bruce Simister (Dianne); grandchildren, Heather Simister and Ian Simister (Penny Wong), four sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
According to Kathlene's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Thank you to the staff of the Grace Hospice, the home palliative care team and the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care unit for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Hospice or CancerCare Manitoba.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Madeline. She was a wonderful lady and I always loved visiting with her. I remember vividly her beautiful garden and spectacular Morning Glory! She was one of the most stylish women I knew and I remember specifically her in a burgundy long winter coat and matching colour hat, so beautiful! Funny the things you remember as a child. I know this was a long and difficult time for her and that you all took wonderful care of her. It is unfortunate we cannot gather to celebrate her life right now but know that we are thinking about all of you during this very sad time.
