It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John at St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care, with his loving wife Jean of 56 years, and son Clarence at his side. His son Greg of Vancouver was unable to be present due to restrictions of Covid-19.
John was born in the Ethelbert area. Predeceased by his father Nick in 1973 and mother Anastasia in 1983. And very recently by his older brother Mike, his brother Bill of Selkirk, brother Morris of Grosse Isle and sister Nadia of Vernon, BC all in 2013.
Remaining sisters are Anne Zuk of White Rock, BC, Sandy Rowlett of Wadena, SK and Iris Bailey of Kelowna, BC.
Heartfelt thanks to Palliative Care staff at St. Boniface Hospital. Their care for John was extraordinary.
Ukrainian Catholic funeral service was held on May 25, 2020. Cremation and urn placement has taken place at Glen Eden Cemetery. Special thanks to Father Alan Wizinsky for his guidance and support.

Rest in Peace, Dear John,
you will be forever missed
but always in our hearts.

  • We were neighbours to John and Jean for years when we moved to Pritchard Farm. Always remember John's great positivity and his golf stories, along with his supply of golf balls he retrieved on his daily golf trips to Lorette. • I am so glad I spent time chatting with John at the Doroshenko Reunion a few years ago. I also had great conversations with him by phone when he was in the States during the winter as I was planning the Reunion. He was so positive about life in general. I'm sorry that he has gone and I won't be able to enjoy any future phone calls. My heart goes out to his loving wife.
