ELIZABETH (BETTY) HOLLAND
June 8, 1933 - June 9, 2020

After a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's, life long Salvationist Betty Holland was Promoted to Glory.
Betty was predeceased in 2011 by the love of her life, her husband of 57 years, Russell Holland.
Betty is survived by her son Russell (Judy); daughters, Barbara (Art) and Ruth (Ron); grandchildren, Pamela, Dara Lee (Cameron), Melissa (Corrie), Gordon (Cassandra) and Jennifer, as well as great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Madison, Charlie, Julia, James, Peyton, Sadie and Sloane.
She dedicated her life to her family, friends, the Salvation Army and helping others.
Betty was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on June 8, 1933 and was one of 14 children. The Holland family relocated to Winnipeg in 1967 and Betty called it home for the rest of her life.
Betty and Russell enjoyed travelling, they spent 10 years wintering in Florida, as well as many trips to Vancouver and Nova Scotia.
She worked at Safeway (down to the day!!!) for 28 years, three months and eight days. She also dedicated many years volunteering at the Grace Hospital, as well as canvassing for the Salvation Army Red Shield, Diabetes and Cancer Society. Mom loved to cook, bake and entertain.
As a dedicated Salvationist, Betty was very involved in the church, she had a love for music and was a long-time member of the Heritage Park Temple Songsters.
The family would like to thank Wendy, 3rd floor and her team, as well as all the staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge for the care and compassion they demonstrated in her final years. Also, Major Brenda Coles for her visits and walking the journey with Mom.
A special thank you to Ed and Mary, long-time friends, for their visits, encouragement and love throughout all of Mom's life.
Also, a special thank you to Mom's sister Ruth for the many cards, phone calls, love and support.
To the Heritage Park Temple family, thankful for your prayers, visits and cards. Special thanks to Marg, Rose, both Sharon W's, Sharon J, Joan H and Dorothy B for the many visits, cards and support on behalf of HPT Women's Ministry and long-time friends.
Due to Covid-19 there will be a private family service held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heritage Park Temple (Salvation Army), 825 School Road, Winnipeg, MB R2Y 0S8 or the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, https://alzheimer.mb.ca
