PATRICIA ELAINE STEVENSON
1936 2020
Pat was born, during a crippling snowstorm April 26, 1936 in Morden Hospital (a long cutter ride from the family farm in Roland, Manitoba.) She was raised by a loving family as one of five children. Pat left home to attend the Misericordia School of Nursing, graduating in 1958. She would often reminisce of her training, her escapades, and her lifelong friends as well as meeting Bill, her husband of 61 years.
Her career as a nurse eventually took her to the St Boniface Day Hospital where she is still fondly remembered, eventually retiring from her dedicated service of others. She had also been instrumental in establishing the Manitoba Nurses Union in the 1970s.
She loved gardening at her home in Fort Richmond, but became "commander and chief" when organizing Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and family events. Her turkey dinners and soups were the best.
Her true love was "the Lake." Mom and Dad enjoyed a second home - their trailer in Gimli. There, Pat embraced the outdoors; golfing, walking on the beach, cooking, biking, picnicking and entertaining. Pat was a dedicated and loving grandparent attending every school play, recital and soccer game.
Cherishing her memory are her husband Bill; son Garth Stevenson (Lori) and daughter Susan Dojack (Tom); her grandchildren, Jan Kass (Malek), Loni Stevenson (Bobby) and Luke Dojack and her great-grandchildren, Noura, Gabriel, Amira, Benjamin, Ethan, Aidan, Jaelyn and Tru.
A celebration of Patricia's life will be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation JDRF, 1000-191 Lombard Avenue, Winnipeg Manitoba, R3B 0X1.

Our condolences to Bill and Pat's children and grandchildren. We met Pat and Bill 8 summers ago when we were fortunate enough to become their lake neighbours. We were instantly welcomed and looked out for each other. Pat made us feel so welcome and we looked forward to sitting and visiting with Pat and Bill. May your happy memories bring you comfort. - Posted by: Evelyn and Leo ("Lake" neighbours) on: Jun 16, 2020
