ELSIE ELLA BIEDLER
(nee PETZNIK)
September 19, 1937 - June 8, 2020

In the early hours of June 8, with her girls by her side, Mom passed quietly from this world to the next after a brief illness at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre.
Mom was born on the family farm in Glenmoor, MB to August and Filipena Petznik, the youngest of three siblings. She is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Wilfred, her parents, and one brother Arnold.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her two daughters, Cheryl Nuttall (Robert) and Marlene Szarka (George), her brother Alfred Petznik, sister-in-law Gerda Petznik, beloved nieces and nephews, and three grand kitties. Mom also leaves her three other girls behind, best friends, Esther Kurbis, Amanda Botican and Susan Sprong, whom she loved dearly.
Mom and Dad settled in Greenwald, MB where Mom resided until moving to Selkirk in 2015. Our Mom loved the simple things in life, good home-cooked food, knitting, crocheting, sewing, Bingo and above all gardening. Her knowledge of plants and flowers was remarkable and she loved nothing better than a trip to a greenhouse and then planting her findings.
After raising her family, she entered the workforce where she was employed at Sun Gro peat moss plant, Westhawk Lake Resort and finally retired from East Gate Lodge in Beausejour in 2002. She made many friends wherever she went with her honest and kind personality.
The family would like to thank the staff at Selkirk Hospital for their kind care and compassion during her final days.

A life is like a flower
It blooms, then fades away
But it leaves a lasting beauty
In our hearts from day to day

Auf Weidersehen Mommie,
we love and miss you.
