FILIPPO (PHIL) SCIANGULA
May 31, 1947 - June 23, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather, Phil Sciangula. With his loving family by his side, Phil passed away peacefully after a long, courageous battle with cancer at the age of 73.
Phil was a joyful person who lived life to the fullest. Spending time with his family and friends was his greatest joy. Phil was known as a sociable person who loved to be around others and share stories. He had a great sense of humour, loved to laugh, and loved to make others laugh as well. From a young age, Phil was hard working. Phil was always a positive, optimistic person who saw the good in everyone and everything. He acted with kindness, respect and generosity in everything he did. Phil was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and he will forever live in our memories and in our hearts.
Phil is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Rosa, his two children, Johnny and Antonella (Kris), and his two grandchildren, Kolten and Aria. Phil is also survived by his sisters, Anna Maria and Josie, his brother and sister-in-law, Don and Lena Pepe, his sister-in-law Tina, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Phil was predeceased by his parents, Gianbattista and Francesca, his sister Anna, brothers, Nick and Charlie, and his in-laws, Michele and Filomena Pepe.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the many nurses, doctors and staff who cared for Phil at CancerCare Manitoba, St. Boniface Hospital, Health Sciences Centre, and Riverview.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Phil's memory can be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Children's Hospital Foundation.
Condolences will be received at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. on June 30, 2020, between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Due to COVID restrictions, the funeral will be for immediate family only.
