HEINRICH KLASSEN
Heinrich is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Rosa; four daughters: Nelly (Peter) Sawatzky of Ottawa, Elviera (David) Mearon, Elsa (Robert) Davedow and Lily Klassen; six grandchildren: Charles Sawatzky, Paul Sawatzky, Larissa (Caleb) Chambers, Daniel (Rebecca) Davedow, Michael (Victoria) Davedow and Taylor Davedow (Matthew Wells); five great-grandchildren: Gabriella, Zoë and Levi Chambers, Micah and Rylie Davedow. Many nieces, nephews and family in Canada and Germany.
During the Second World War, Heinrich was separated from his mother and siblings. After the war he found himself being located to Leninabad, Tajikistan where he met and married Rosa Riedinger in 1952. Years later, Heinrich finally reunited with his mother and siblings.
Heinrich tried exhaustedly to bring his family to Canada for better life. After years of attempts, his dream came true, Heinrich and his family landed in Canada on July 18, 1972.
Adapting to the new country, language and culture, although challenging, were of freedom and joy. After trying several different jobs, Heinrich found work at Thor Machinery from where he retired at the age of 65.
Heinrich loved fishing, building things and creating everything and anything and always helping his daughters in every way that he could. His family, along with the many nieces and nephews, were very important to him.
Heinrich passed away suddenly and unexpectantly on Monday, June 22, 2020.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Heinrich's name to Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Family service will be held July 3, 2020.
