(nee WATSON)
November 20, 1951 - July 1, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, Doris Ellen Pelletier, aged 68, on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre after a valiant battle with cancer.
Doris was predeceased by her daughter Nicolle at the age of five years, her father Keith Watson, and sister Diane Petit.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Rene, her daughter Tanya (Nick), beloved grandchildren, Stasio, Demetri and Kristina, her mother Ellen Watson, her sisters, Gwenn (Dan) AmOrde, Johanna Renn, and her brother Grant (Emily) Watson; as well as many extended family and friends.
Doris survived polio and spent a large portion of her childhood at Shriners Hospital. Doris attended Fort Frances High School and lived a wild life, starting her adult life by eloping and marrying Rene in 1970. Rene's career allowed them the opportunity to live in various locations across Manitoba, Iqaluit, and Northwestern Ontario, finding their retirement in the Paradise Village Community. Doris enjoyed golfing, fishing, and her favourite hobbies - painting and drawing. She had a special love for animals; however, her family was most important to her.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to staff of CancerCare, as well as the nursing staff on the medical unit of the Bethesda Regional Health Centre, for their kindness and compassionate care shown to Doris during her stay.
A private memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Crossings Funeral Care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Winnipeg Humane Society.

  • Renee, Tania & Nick and family. We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your precious wife, mother and grandmother. We didn't have the pleasure of knowing Doris for very long but we were fortunate to have met and socialized with her at several family get-togethers. She had a warm smile and a pleasant disposition. She will be sadly missed. Please know that our thoughts are with all of you and we will be praying for you, especially this Wednesday. Lots of virtual hugs and kisses, Jean and Denise - Posted by: Jean and Denise Gautreau (related to Tania and Nick) on: Jul 06, 2020

  • I am so glad Maureen and myself how to spend some time with Doris and Renny 2 years ago. I have many fond memories of Doris as a cousin, I remember we would all go and dance in the garage and have fun. I'm deeply saddened of her passing, I know God has a plan for us all and she's comfortable and not suffering. I pray that everyone be blessed and comforted with God's love and grace. Love to you all. - Posted by: Jerry Floeting (Cousin) on: Jul 04, 2020

  • My deepest condolences to Rene, Tanya and the Watson family. I had the privilege of becoming a great friend of Doris back when she was a patient at the Shriners Hospital in Winnipeg back in the 60's. We enjoyed some great times, but our friendship has distance as she was from Fort Frances and I from Saskatoon. It was an honour to have met and known Doris. Please accept our deepest condolences.
