DORIS HEARNE
She was predeceased by her loving husband James, sister Phyllis McDougall, and her parents, Robert and Crosbie McDougall.
Doris was a school teacher in her beloved Scotland before meeting and marrying Jim. Together with Jim she started a new life in Canada sharing many happy years travelling the world and spending their summers at their cottage at Hillside Beach.
Doris leaves to mourn her memory, friends, Dr. Brian and Michelle Sharkey and family, Graham and Diane Curnew, Minister and friend Karen Lumley and Kollette. In Scotland, Fraser and Joan Gray, Gordon and Marion Gray, Ronald and Jane Gray.
A very special thank you to Blossom Senior Care Inc. and the Front Door Staff of 255 Wellington Crescent. Their loving care and attention allowed Doris to remain in her home until her passing.
A private interment and Celebration of Life is to be held at a later date.

I was with Mrs. Hearne for nearly 2 years 12 hrs a day. After I had left, this may sound cliché and maybe too much, but For some reason I always find myself thinking about her even up to this day, 4 years later. Not a week goes by that I don’t remember her. Just now as I’m watching Downton Abbey, I can’t help but remember all the tea times we’ve had. I’ve always meant to come over and visit her but I’m always hesitant that she’d remember who I am. I’ve always checked up on her from the other workers that stayed with her. It’s always bothered me that I never got to say a proper good bye, I’ve cherished the days we’ve had together. They say a person is a collection of people who’ve touched their hearts and lives. I can definitely say you’ve touched my heart a great deal Mrs. Hearne and I’ll hold you dear forever. Goodbye, Mrs. Hearne.
