LESLIE (LES) JEROME
He leaves to mourn his four children, Doug Jerome, Chris Jerome, Marlene Jerome (Mike), and Brenda Toles; his five grandchildren, Alyssa, Brennen, Joshua, Darby, and Jessica; as well as his brother's family. He was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Edith Jerome, his brother Ted Jerome and his wife Marion.
Les was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 20, 1933 and grew up in the city where he worked as an accountant until he retired. He was the kind of man who was smart, funny, strong, independent with no limitations, who never let anything stand in his way. He was big on family and was always there when you needed him. He enjoyed playing board games and card games with family as well as doing puzzles, his favourite being cryptograms. Summer vacations were special times as well, as we would all go away together as a family to Detroit Lakes, and later West Hawk Lake; going for boat rides being one of his favourite thing to do at the lake. He got a chance to take one of his dream trips to Ireland in 2017.
A funeral service celebrating Les' life will be held on Friday, July 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home at 4000 Portage Avenue. Burial and reception to follow the service. We would like to thank his doctors, Winnipeg Fire Department and paramedics, and the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Les may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Due to the current restrictions of COVID-19, reservations are required in order to attend the services. Please contact Chapel Lawn Funeral Home at 204-885-9715 between 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to make a reservation.
