INGRID BODNARUK
(nee HAAKONSEN)
December 30, 1945 - July 12, 2020
Ingrid will be lovingly remembered by her husband Raymond, daughter Stacey, and son Darren. Ingrid was predeceased by her father Haakon Haakonsen in 1964, and mother Simone Domey (Haakonsen) (nee LaRose) in 2008.
Ingrid was born in Shawinigan, Quebec on December 30, 1945. Six years later, the family moved to Winnipeg. Being an only child, Ingrid quickly became adept at making friends at the various schools she attended. Following high school, she was employed in secretarial positions in various government offices. It was at the Province's Norquay Building in Winnipeg that she met the love of her life, Raymond, whom she married on December 9, 1967. Stacey was born in 1973 and Darren in 1975. After their two children moved through elementary school, Ingrid resumed her career as a Bilingual Assistant Administrative Secretary in various schools in Southwest Winnipeg. Being an energetic and caring person, she loved the school environment and the interactions with the students and staff.
To her friends and family, Ingrid was admired for her boundless energy and love of life, her loving and positive nature, and her carefree disposition. Her passions included many activities, especially golfing, skiing, swimming and biking. She was a fierce competitor in table tennis. Ingrid's happiest times included being at lakeside cottages with her family, hiking on the trails at the base of a snow-capped mountain, and enjoying the natural calm and peace of a beautiful golf course.
Ingrid was an inspirational woman who loved everyone, and was loved by everyone who knew her.
Special thanks to the Riverview Health Centre staff for their care of Ingrid during her final days.
A private service will be held on July 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home. The service will also be available for online streaming on Facebook Live. Interment will follow the service.

Our thoughts are with Ingrid's family & all those close to her that will feel her absence. Although we have not seen the Bodnaruk family for many years we can recall clearly, our random meetings of Ray & Ingrid, jauntily walking up the halls at a teachers/parent interview or trailing their bikes & always the both of them had the biggest smiles to greet everyone. Ingrid was always interested in 'how are you guys, what are your kids doing now?' & only after hearing our news would she & Ray tell us of some adventure they had just been on. It was always a pleasure to meet this couple. Ingrid was always enthusiastic, joyful and full of life. We know you have tons of wonderful memories & hope that those will be your cushion of courage to hang onto & recall when the days to come may feel bleak. For all the sad folks on earth that will be missing this vital, interesting, joyful lady...there were angels jumping for joy when they saw her coming to join them. May Ingrid RIP & may Peace be a steady visitor to all her family facing an uncomfortable new chapter in their lives. Respectfully remembering you all.
