THELMA HADDAD
Thelma was born on July 9, 1926 in Oakburn, MB to Alex and Helena Yanyk and spent most of her youth in Oakburn and Dauphin areas, moving to Brandon in 1945. She married Reg Skeoch in 1950, who passed away in 1958. Thelma worked at Eaton's, The Civil Service Commission and the Department of Highways at which time she met and married Joseph Haddad in 1989.
She was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Helena Yanyk; sisters, Rose, Caroline, Vera, Lillian, Annette and Nell; brothers, Sam, John and Michael; first husband Reg Skeoch and second husband Joseph Haddad.
She is survived by daughter Cindy Cruise of Winnipeg, daughter Cathy (Jurgen) Figura of Aldergrove, BC and their children, Garrett, Maddie, Kimberly and Kelsey; along with numerous nieces and nephews and ex-son-in-law Alan Cruise who were all very special to her.
Thelma's love of being a jokester and making people laugh endeared her to everyone she met - there wasn't a day that went by that she wasn't making people laugh, even up to her last days. Her sharp wit and sense of humour will be sadly missed.
On Thelma's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will take place in the near future.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada, the Kidney Foundation of Canada or to a charity of your choice.
So lovely, so loving, so loved.

I was saddened to hear of Thelma's passing. She lived a long and beautiful life surrounded by her family and dear friends. I did not know Thelma very well, but Cindy has been a good friend and co-worker of mine for many years and I did have some chats with Thelma while I was living in Brandon. When Cindy and I had our get-togethers, Cindy would always have a funny story about Thelma. What a character she was - a tiara for your 90th birthday? Now that is young at heart. My sympathies to the whole family Lorraine McAndrew - Posted by: Lorraine McAndrew (Friend of Cindy's) on: Jul 26, 2020
