EDNA ANN FUDGE
(nee DARECHUK)
Edna was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. She married James Edward Fudge (Jimmy) on February 5, 1955. Edna and Jimmy made many dear, lifelong friends and enjoyed travelling throughout Europe during their 'Air Force years'. After their wonderful sojourn in Europe, Jimmy was posted to Winnipeg, MB. On Jimmy's retirement, they settled in Gimli. Friends and family will remember Edna for her gentle kindness, her generosity, and for her love of gardening, cooking, knitting, and entertaining.
Her children will sorely miss the profound comfort of Edna's abundant, unconditional acceptance and love. There are many friends, neighbours, and family, who enjoyed the humble and generous gifts of Edna's hand knit, cozy slippers, and her baking.
Edna is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Wanda and Bob (Winnipeg), Donna and Rick (Belleville, Ontario), and Linda and Eric (Gimli). Also surviving Edna are sisters, Elsie and Joyce.
Edna was predeceased by her husband Jimmy, sister Nellie, and brothers, Peter and Harry.
The family greatly appreciate the dedicated staff of the Gimli Betel Home Foundation, the Gimli Community Health Centre, and Dr. Adeniyi Adegbesan, for their professionalism, care, and compassion.
For those wishing, donations in Edna's name may be made to The Gimli Humane Society, P.O. Box 1999, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0.
Due to Covid-19, there will be no formal service at this time. Instead, friends and family will gather to share stories and memories at a later date, to be chosen when Covid-19 restrictions allow.
What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because
I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near,
just round the corner. All is well.
Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble
of parting when we meet again!
