HOWARD HAROLD THURSTON

Suddenly after a brief illness, Howard Thurston passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at St. Boniface Hospital, on July 20, 2020, at the age of 85.
Left to mourn his passing are his six children: Allan (Linda), Audrey (Daron), Todd (Shelley), Troy, Gayle (Tony), and Maureen (Troy), 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, his brothers, Ronald and Roy, his sisters, Ida and Joan, numerous nieces and nephews, and his special friend Helene. Howard was predeceased by his beloved wife Diane of 46 years, his parents, Clarice (Rene) and Archibald Thurston, brothers, Donald and Walter and his sister Irene.
Howard was a jack-of-all-trades. He was a Mechanic, a Landscaper and worked at Supercrete. He loved to work on cars and build things. He especially loved spending time at his cabin in Richer, where you would often find him cutting wood in the bush and picking blueberries.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all of the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for all of the care and compassion that they have shown during this difficult time.
The service will be held at St. Boniface Cathedral on Friday, July 31 at 10:30 a.m.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • We met Howard about 4 years ago when we bought our first load of firewood. Always a great pleasure to talk with him. Visited with him at his cabin in the summer regardless if we needed wood or not. He was like everready rabbit always going. Hard working and love of his cabin was his joy. We will miss our chats. - Posted by: Don Dupuis and family (Friend) on: Jul 31, 2020
