SINCLAIR PAUL DOMINIC GOMES
Deeply mourning his passing is his mother Phyllis Gomes of Selkirk, MB, his sister Vanessa Mattos and her husband Agnello of Winnipeg, MB, his sister Michelle Driedger and husband Wallace (Mikaela and Grace), of La Broquerie, MB, and along with relatives from England and India. Sinclair made many lifelong friends from Canada and the US.
Sinclair was predeceased by his father Joseph Oswald Peter Gomes in 1984 and his grandmother Ena Mary Rodrigues in 2009.
Sinclair was born in Bombay, India on August 4, 1965. He along with his parents and two sisters immigrated to Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada in April 1968.
Sinclair graduated Grade 12 from The Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive High School in 1983. He received his Computer Programming Diploma from Toronto, ON in 1989. Sinclair relocated to the US in 1994 to pursue his career.
Sinclair had a passion for beautiful cars since childhood and was unequalled in his knowledge of makes and models of cars. He had an uncanny knack for finding rare cars and his expertise with engines, along with his eye for beauty, gave him many pleasurable hours both working on cars and cruising around in his beautiful California surroundings.
Sinclair, you will forever
remain in our hearts.

I had the pleasure and privilege of meeting and working with Sinclair in San Diego in the late 1990s. The two of us worked side by side on a special project at SDGE for over a year, thus began a long friendship. We created several new programs and processes, and became experts in a new aspect of Energy Billing. He and I shared a love of cars, running, and motorcycles. Mustangs, Corvettes, and Camaros, I got to drive many of special vehicles when he would drop by to show me his latest acquisition. We ran together downtown on occasion, even went on some motorcycle adventures in San Diego's back country. Sorry about his broken collarbone, but in typical Sinclair fashion he bounced right up after falling on one of those rides, acting as if it was no big deal. I have fond memories of all our visits together to Automobile shows in LA and San Diego, some holiday meals he joined us for, me telling him about the challenges of two teenage daughters, and years later having him join us at each of their weddings. We spoke and texted a few times about a month ago, how glad I am that he reached out. He will be missed, but not forgotten by myself or my family. To his family, while we never met, I often heard about you over the years. I'm sorry for your loss. - Posted by: jeff cresap (friend) on: Aug 23, 2020
