MARY POPIEL

Mary's family wishes to announce the end of an era and a family generation with her peaceful passing on August 5, 2020, after a memorable, at times also very challenging and very courageous and beautiful life that spanned 105 years.
A private family and friends interment and Celebration of Life remains planned for a later date. Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's name may be made to Holy Family Home, 165 Aberdeen Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R2W 1T9, Cancercare Manitoba or to another charitable organization of one's choice.

  • Mary was a part of my life for over 50 years. She was an inspiration to many, but to me, she was more than that. She had a wonderful sense of humor and when she laughed all around her would laugh. She was always dressed just so, with her hair done and a touch of makeup. She wasn't shy about expressing her opinion and stayed the course during a discussion, no matter what the popular opinion was. I will miss her very much but she was tired and ready to rest.
