ALLAN ROBERT MELVILLE
June 7, 1933 - August 14, 2020
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gail, his children, Gary (Ellie) and Sandra (Gary), his grandchildren, Sarah (Pierre), Patricia (Ben), Christopher, Skylar and Rylan; five great-grandchildren; and his sister Roberta Kary.
He was predeceased by his father Robert and his mother Mary.
Allan spent 39 years with the Manitoba Telephone System, retiring in 1990 as Staff Manager, Coe and Toll Standards. After retirement, he and Gail experienced many enjoyable winter trips to Palm Desert, California; Scottsdale, Arizona; and Fort Myers, Florida. But his favourite place was his cottage at Star Lake in the Whiteshell, that he and his father built together in 1951. Many lasting memories were made there with family and friends.
At Allan's request and respecting his wishes, there will be no formal service.

Our dad, the late Paul Smith, was a good friend of "Mr. Melville" for a very long time, while they were both working at MTS, and into retirement. They, along and other friends, would meet for lunch for years. Dad always looked forward to his lunches with Al, we could not schedule anything else for those Wednesdays - the lunch with his old friend took priority. Our condolences on your loss.
