EVELYN MARCINIEC
August 29, 1930 August 18, 2020
Evelyn was born to Joseph and Josephine Marciniec of Fork River, Manitoba north of Dauphin. She excelled in school and went on to University of Manitoba and earned a degree in teaching with interest in Special Education. Evelyn taught in several Catholic schools in Ontario and also taught in Lac Seul First Nations, ON and Peguis First Nations, MB. Her quest was to help those who struggled with studies and, though at times she found it challenging, she found joy and fulfillment in her work going over and beyond the call of duty when it came to her students. She always thought of others though she was a private person. She loved her siblings and their families and made inquiries of how they were doing, and was glad to know that they were well established and taking care of one another.
Evelyn was a person of faith and loved her Catholic faith with a passion. A person of prayer with the Eucharist being the center of her life of prayer, from which she found direction and strength in life. She had an extraordinary devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, her Lord.
Evelyn was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Josephine Marciniec, a baby brother, her sisters Kay (Bob) Thompson of Dunville, ON, Mary (Gerry) Dugas of Edmonton, AB. She leaves to mourn, sisters Bernice (Jim) Hosack of Port Colbourne, ON, Lee (Frank) Kish of Simcoe, ON, brother Tom (Bev) Marciniec of St. Catherines, ON, several nieces and nephews and their families.
Thank you to all the staff and doctors who attended Evelyn at St. Joseph Care Home in Winnipeg, also to Clare Whitaker who visited Evelyn every week of which Evelyn enjoyed.
Evelyn will be laid to rest at Assumption Cemetery, Winnipeg on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. after a Funeral Mass.
Evelyn's wish would be, rather than flowers have a Mass for her at your local parish.
Rest in Peace God's Faithful Servant.

Tom sorry to hear of your sister's passing. I am originally from Fork River-do you remember me? I think your sister taught at DND school. She had brought a car back & I sold her a license plate for it. - Posted by: John Jacob Harrison (neighbour) on: Aug 24, 2020
