KATHERINE (KAY) PAULINE MCCRACKEN
(nee CORNEILLIE)
August 24, 1930 - August 22, 2020
She is survived by her daughter Colleen Williams (Martin), her brother Bob (Lil), and sister Betty Lagimodiere. "Gammy" will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Marcus and Katelyn, with whom she had a very special relationship. Katherine was predeceased by her son Ken (Sindee).
Katherine grew up on the family farm in Ile Des Chenes with her sister and four brothers and liked to share stories of those happy years.
Kay had an aptitude for keyboard instruments and played the accordion and piano with sublimity, a trait that has been passed down to Katelyn. She was very self sufficient in all aspects and thus became adept at such things as dry walling and painting. Her favourite pastime was being with Colleen and her grandchildren and helping out wherever she could. She was always first in line to help, babysitting, garage sales and even painting and always with a smile and a laugh.
She was much loved and leaves us rich in memories.
There will be no funeral service. A private service will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or any charity of one's choice.
I have fought the good fight, I have
finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Colleen, Martin, Marcus and Katelyn, I found that Katherine had passed just this year. I’m so sorry for your loss. Meeting Katherine at 18 years old as the kids babysitter was so special. She was kind, warm and always smiling. I loved her. She taught me so many things about natural remedies, reading labels, cleanses, all that I have carried with me to this day so many years later. The last time I saw her at Costco we shared a big hug. She was as beautiful as ever. Sending you all so much love. I know you all still miss her. Dear Colleen and Family - Wishing you peace during this time - I have such special memories of your Mom many years ago during my teenager years - I would look so forward to visits at your Mom's place - "She was like one of the girls" I'd often have such great conversations with her and feel so comfortable around her - Colleen your Mom was a remarkable person - she was beautiful both inside and out - I remember her as being so strong, optimistic, generous, and loving. Rest in Peace Beautiful Soul - Posted by: Liz Schappert (Friend to Colleen) on: Sep 05, 2020

Colleen and family.. Sad to hear of your mom's passing. I will always remember her as such a strong and beautiful lady. I lost my mom recently, but I know she felt the same about Kay. We were neighbours on Moore/River Rd. Keep the good memories close !!! Janice Hudson (Lobson) - Posted by: Janice Hudson (Long ago Neighbor ) on: Sep 02, 2020
