KENNETH L. BENEDICTSON
1942 – 2020

Peacefully at home, in the early light of dawn of August 22, Ken lost his long, courageous, hard-fought battle and will now rest peacefully at the place he loved with all his heart and soul "the lake".
Ken was born in Gimli and moved to Winnipeg at the age of seven. He played hockey with the East End Community Club where his team won the city championship at the Bantam B level and later played with Bronx Park Community Club. He was an avid hockey and football fan supporting both the Winnipeg Jets and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
He leaves to mourn and miss him terribly, his loving wife, Charlotte and his beloved "fur babies", Tobey and Joey. Predeceased by his mother Violet and father Kristinn. He is survived by his brothers, Brian (Johanne) and Randy (Linda), sister Darlene, his brother-in-law Tim, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all the healthcare givers at St. Boniface and Seven Oaks hospitals for the wonderful care given to Ken during his lengthy stay. A very special thank you to Dr. Q. Doan, Ken's physician, for his excellent care, compassion and kindness over the years.
Also, a heartfelt thank you to the Winnipeg Fire Department, the Winnipeg Paramedic Service and the Winnipeg Police Service for their valiant efforts on Ken's behalf.
In keeping with Ken's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
Flowers are graciously declined. Should anyone so desire, a small donation to an animal shelter in need or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba would be appreciated.

I am at peace, my soul at rest,
There is no need for tears,
For with your love I was so blessed,
For all those many years.
The day will come when we will meet again,
On Heaven's distance shore,
And the two of us will walk hand in hand,
Together forever more.
