John is now in peace after a difficult year-long battle with cancer. He spent the last few months at Riverview Health Centre where he continued to amaze the staff with his resilience and as his wry wit.
John is predeceased by his wife Yvonne and his parents, John and Margaret, and brother-in-law Eddie. He is survived by his close companion Sharon; his sisters, Margaret and Marilyn (John); his three daughters, Fran (Leo), Shelley (Gerald) and Janelle (Kevin); and his grandchildren, Marissa, Zoé, Alexisse, Liam, Sophie and Zach.
John always valued quality time with family and friends and found joy and friendships on the golf course, playing hockey, and camping.
John was a beloved grandpa who always had time to participate in his grandkids lives.
We will miss you so much!
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff on 3 West and 3 East at Riverview Health Centre and the dedicated and caring home care workers who supported him at Seine River Residence.
In lieu of flowers and if friends so desire, donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre - Personal Care Unit 3W.

Bob and I were introduced to John and Yvonne through mutual friends and enjoyed their company very much. We shared many a fun golf game, dinners out and time at our cabin. We were very grateful that they dedicated time to assisting us in the care of that cabin. Bob and John played with the Reman Raiders together. They enjoyed every loss and the one glorious win !! You will be remembered and missed for sure. It was a blessing to have know you John. - Posted by: Barb and Bob Friesen (Friends ) on: Sep 23, 2020
Some Memories: John and I grew up in Grunthal. John's family lived in town and my family lived on a small farm close to the village. I was always under the impression that John should have been the farmer and I should have been the town kid. Since his father owned a local dealership, John grew up driving tractors and pick-up trucks. Sat beside each other for most of our school career and we were quite convinced that we could navigate through a school math book better than any of our teachers could.
