It is with deep sadness that the family wishes to announce the sudden passing of Walter on Friday, Aug. 31, 2018 at the Vita Personal Care Home, Vita, MB. Walter was born on July 20, 1931 in Gardenton, MB to Margaret and John Prokipchuk.
Walter was predeceased by his loving wife Mary, parents Margaret and John, most recently sister Ollie Boyer, May 2018, brother-in-law Paul Boyer, July 2018, sister Mary Homeniuk, August 2018. As well, he was predeceased by brothers-in-law John Homeniuk and Gene Boyko.
He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Allision, nieces and nephews Teri (Doug), Ollie (Ken), Rick (Pat), Orest (Lorraine), Diane (Bohdan), Gary (Susan), Michael (Patti), Debi (Mike), great-niece Carrie (Bill) (Presley), Brittany (Eldon), Grant, Jordan (Breann) (Avery, Nolan), and sister-in-law Theresa (Joanne).
A funeral service will be held on Monday, Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB with Father Myron Pozniak officiating.
A big thank you from the family to the staff of Vita PCH for the wonderful care they provided Walter, as well to Dr Olga Ulanovych.
