SHARON T. NEIL
(YALOWEGA)
September 21, 1963 - October 19, 2020
Sharon is survived by her loving husband William, son Carson (Haley), daughter Taylor (Nick), sisters, Dena-Rae (Floyd) and Gaylene (Kerry). She was predeceased by her father Russell and mother Marie.
From an early age Sharon knew what her life's calling would be. She achieved her goal when she became a Registered Nurse at the tender age of 19. She worked tirelessly in multiple hospital settings including the Burn Unit, Ambulatory Care, Plastic Surgery, Dialysis, and Emergency, loving every minute. Her incredible nursing skills were matched only by the compassion she showed her patients.
Sharon's biggest love was that of her family. She loved spoiling her young children with the fanciest clothing and haircuts to make sure they matched her fashionista style. She loved cheering them on at all their sporting events, especially hockey, even though admittedly, she could never figure out what "offside" and "icing" meant. Education was very important to Sharon, who passed that drive along to her children.
Some of the best times Sharon had were at the St. John's Sportsmen's Club spending time with her family and closest friends where she won multiple Couch Potato awards. However, she would tell you that her fondest memories were travelling to Cuba or Mexico for a week or two in the winter. She loved to sit on the beach, suntan, and peer at the mesmerizing blue ocean. She was always the most beautiful woman at the resort.
Cremation has taken place and due to Covid, a larger family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate Sharon's life.
In lieu of wasting money on flowers, please spend that money on your own families and embrace each other in love.
Know that we love and miss you.
Till we meet again in Heaven...

On behalf of the WGH/HSC Nursing Alumni we extend our sincerest condolences to Sharon's family and friends. Sharon's nursing classmates shared some wonderful memories as follows; "Sharon was a bright light in our nursing class of 1983. She connected easily with our classmates on the first days of school when we were all trying to find our way. Sharon was kind and funny and a really loyal friend. She was devoted to her boyfriend, Bill, and shared her dreams for the future with us. We know all of those dreams came true. Sharon worked really hard at her studies and would stay up all night before an exam. She was a little giddy in the morning but she got top marks. She was really excited to be chosen for her senior practicum to work in burns and plastics and that led to a long career in plastic surgery. Sharon contributed to so many in her nursing career. She will be truly missed." Know that our Alumni is very proud of Sharon being one of our sisters, - Posted by: MARIAN Ulyatt (WGH/HSC Nursing Alumni Friendship Convenor) on: Nov 01, 2020

Bill and family, We are so very sorry for your tragic loss. Sharon and I were best friends in nursing school. We laughed and cried together over our assignments and experiences. We worked together for many years and she was an excellent nurse who made going to work a pleasure. We had our kids at about the same time and I specifically remember Sharon helping me when I was a stressed and worried new mom. She patiently walked me through how to organize to get out of the house to our first baby check without making me feel needy. Sharon also shared her fashion knowledge making sure my kids had properly coordinated outfits for their annual Sears photos. I think of her when I look at that picture now. Darren and I have fond memories of great dinners together and a trip out to the Whiteshell. Every time we drive that way now, we remember having burgers and a beer at the stop in Seven Sisters. Sharon said they were the best burgers ever and she was right. Please accept our sincere condolences. We will miss her terribly. love from Gillian and Darren - Posted by: Gillian and Darren Toth (friends) on: Oct 24, 2020
