It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather, Bohden Burak, on October 20, 2020, at the age of 87 years.
Bohden was predeceased by his father Harry and sister Darka in 1944, mother Ksenia in 1988 and brother Roman in 2008.
To mourn his passing is his wife Sophie, of 65 years, daughters, Katherine (David) Drul, Linda (Nick) Ondusky, sons, Kenny (Candace), Gary, Kevin (Judy); nine grandchildren, Marcia (Stanley), Angela (Kelly), Kimberly (Lucas), Dominick and Daniel (Ondusky), Cassidy and Brayden (Burak), Carrisa and Marcus (Burak); four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Liam, Olivia and Archer; and sister Sylvia Perecki of Romulus, Michigan.
Bohden was born in Lorette, Manitoba in 1933. He was the first of four children. He lived and worked on the farm until he married Sophie (Romaniuk) Burak in 1955 and moved to Winnipeg. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for K. Schwartz & Sons for 29 years. He worked another 13 years with Cambrian Excavators until his retirement in 1998. He spent his retirement years with what he loved the most, his family and working on the farm in Lorette and Menzie. When he was on the farm, he enjoyed the neighbour friends stopping to visit. Wherever he went, he always met someone that he knew and spent hours talking. He would recount all the construction projects he was involved in and always had a story.
Due to current Covid restrictions, a private family service will be held. Interment at Green Acres Cemetery. A celebration of Bohden's life will be planned at a later date.
Dad you worked hard all your life,
it's time for you to rest.

For those of you who don't know me I'm Glenn. Bohden was my oldest uncle. I was thinking back at his life. This is someone who was born before World War II. He grew up at a time when people did not have the amenities that we take for granted today. Back then when got sick you couldn't run over to the walk-in clinic. You stuck it out. Only the strong survived. Men of his era were industrial age machines, tough, strong and could endure hard labor. Looking at what he achieved in his life is truly amazing. Though his life here is over I'm certain his kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and future generations will continue to talk about Bohden and the life he lived. You will be missed Uncle Bohden but never forgotten. Glenn Romaniuk - Posted by: Glenn Romaniuk (Nephew) on: Oct 26, 2020
