SANNIE NOREEN MCPHAIL
Noreen is survived by her nieces, Lori Allan (Mowat) and Marilyn Hayes (Alan and family), and her nephew, Keith Allan (Janet), all of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her sisters, Jeanne Allan and Madeline Roscoe, and her brothers-in-law, Aubrey Allan and Fred Roscoe.
Noreen was born near Brandon, Manitoba, to Herbert and Frances McPhail, on September 2, 1923. After completing her high school, she trained to be a registered nurse at the Misericordia Hospital in Winnipeg. This was a profession which gave Noreen the opportunity to travel and to work in British Columbia, California, Hawaii, Washington State and Oregon. For many years, Noreen lived in San Francisco and enjoyed the beauty which that city had to offer.
In the early 1980s, Noreen returned to Winnipeg to be closer to family. She worked at Deer Lodge Hospital and Central Park Lodge (Poseidon) before retiring in 1985. After her retirement, Noreen and Madeline were able to spend much time together, enjoying some memorable trips and each other's company.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks for the wonderful care and support provided to Noreen by the staff of Lions Manor, Supported Housing (fifth floor) and PCC (second floor).
Noreen will be deeply and always missed, but we are comforted in knowing that she is at rest.
A private service and interment will take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
