I know it's been 3 years since Jim's passing. I just found out today Oct 9 2023. I had moved away from Winnipeg in 2016 and lost touch with Jim. We go back many many years and we were connected by music. I wired Jim's basement when Jim and Glen Mcbride purchased a house together. We were always in search of that perfect guitar or bass and equipment. We shared so many interests but the most valuable was the friendship we shared. I am beyond shocked and in disbelief to say the least. My world was always a better place with Jim in it and I was so blessed to call him my friend. My condolences go out to his family and all that knew him because I know it's a void that will never be filled. God Bless you Jim and may you rest forever in eternal peace. I know it's been 3 years but it's only been 3 minutes for me as I just found out. - Posted by: Ron Dirr (Friend) on: Oct 09, 2023

Just went by the shop to learn of Jim's passing. What a shock! As I read the other tributes I have to concur with the others that Jim And his business was more than just business… It was a small village where people cared for each other and Jim did so in a very special way...I was excited to tell him about the ski trip that my kids and I went on this past week because, of the many things the Jim enjoyed one of those was downhill skiing. I hope the slopes are exciting where you are now and I know that your new wings will help guide you down the mountains. Peace my friend. - Posted by: Steve Solomon (Client ) on: Feb 20, 2021

I offer my deepest condolences to Jimmy's family. May he rest in eternal peace. I will always remember his kind and honest spirit. If my car needed repairs that would cost me more than it was worth, Jimmy would be straight up with me. From repairs, to Friday night beers or even giving me a lift home from his shop I am thankful for every memory my family and I were given with Jimmy. Until we meet again. - Posted by: Erika Forsyth (Friend) on: Feb 03, 2021

I just learned that Jim had passed. I cried. He was a good man. Always kind and helpful. I had been bringing my car, my sister's car and my friend's car to him for years. I always liked to see him smile. I loved to see Little Bobbi too. I hope she's being cared for now? My condolences to Jim's family and friends. I will miss you Jim Rest in peace and God bless you. - Posted by: Deb Ducharme (Client) on: Jan 11, 2021

I knew Jim for almost 30 years. He was so kind and helped single parents a lot. If it wasn't for Jim and David Halihan I would not have had a car. They always fixed my cars the whole time my daughter was growing up. There aren't many people like Jim. He helped struggling single parents and the less fortunate. Best person ever! Will miss you Jim. My condolences to his family and friends. - Posted by: Lesley T (Friend) on: Nov 05, 2020

My condolences to the family. It has only been over 3 years when I first met Jim. What an extremely kind and generous person. I found Jim to be a hard worker who cared for his clients, and did his best to help them out. A truly good soul. Will miss him as I'm sure his family and others who know Jim will also. Condolences to Jim's family. - Posted by: Dina (Client) on: Nov 05, 2020

Jim, you were the nicest person I met in the past 35 years. You called a spade a spade, yet you had a kindness for the people around you that many of us would do good to emulate. It is very rare that you can put good, honest and affordable, together, when describing your mechanic. I always enjoyed dropping by the garage just to talk, or even share a burger off your grill. (And you genuinely appreciated a cool dozen of Lite Blue:). I'll miss you showing me your beautiful guitars. I never met your family, it will truly be a tough realization for them. The world has lost a beautiful soul. What are we going to do without you? - Posted by: Peter Kolodka (friend) on: Nov 04, 2020

My condolences to the Family. Since 2004 I’ve been taking my vehicles to be serviced to Jim’s garage and I honestly have never met a kinder witty man in this profession. Often he would wait two months for me to pay for service Rendered. He’s a very kind Soul. All of us are going to miss you Jimmy💕 - Posted by: Sue (Friend ) on: Nov 04, 2020
