CHERYL LEE DREILICH
(nee DIXON)
June 4, 1953 - October 31, 2020
Cheryl was born to James and Myrtle (Watson) Dixon on June 4, 1953 in Selkirk, Manitoba. She graduated from Tec Voc High School in 1971, and on June 3, 1972, she married her high school sweetheart, Louie Dreilich.
She graduated from the University of Winnipeg and after 25 years as a Social Worker with Doray Enterprises, Cheryl and Louie retired to their cabin on Lee River where her love of gardening flourished. She was a treasurer with the Agazziz Garden Club, cross-stitched newborn baby blankets, loved to swim and go for pontoon boat rides. Cheryl loved to fish, or bring along a book to read and was always the first one to catch a fish. Cheryl won many awards in the yearly baking show for her baking, jams, and both cut, and grown flowers. Cheryl lived for her grandchildren and made friends everywhere. Being her friend was an absolute gift, and she will forever be remembered for her wise words and her loving heart.
Cheryl will be loved and missed by her husband Louie; sister Karen (Don); daughter Cara (Rick); son Brent (Amanda); grandchildren, Harley, Tanis, Belle, Logan and Xander, as well as her mother-in-law Maria; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-laws, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Cheryl was predeceased by her parents, James and Myrtle Dixon, and her brothers, Gord and Jeff Dixon.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at CancerCare in Winnipeg and Pinawa. A big thank you to the above and beyond care given to Cheryl by the home care workers and nurses and palliative care nurse.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

Dear Louie and family, Our heartfelt condolences to you all. Cheryl had a very infectious smile and a great sense of humour. We were so happy to FINALLY have our Cousins reunion when Bev and Sharon came in from Calgary last year. We had a LOT of laughs and shared a lot of our funny childhood stories. She will be missed. I worked alongside Cheryl for many years at Doray Enterprises. There were lots of laughs around our staff luncheons and dinners out. Cheryl always talked of their times at the cabin and how much fun they had there. My condolences go out to Louie and her family. - Posted by: Bill Werry (Former co-worker) on: Nov 07, 2020

My dear nephew Louie( Brent and Cara ), my condolences on the loss of my sweet and kind niece-in-law. Although she was an in-law, in my heart she was my niece. Cheryl was so generous of a person that when you met her, she instantly made you feel welcomed and a hug was given and you knew you would always be a friend. The love she had for her family and her grandchildren has given many of us, wonderful memories of her beautiful life. We will miss her and her posts of her amazing garden and the home she made for her family. With love and prayers, Aunty Lorette - Posted by: Lorette Thibert (Aunt) on: Nov 07, 2020
