(nee BROWN)

October 30, 2020, at age 89 our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend passed peacefully as she slept. Margret Ellen Weber (nee Brown) was born in Balmoral, Manitoba on August 12, 1931, to Thomas William Brown and Minlou Marie Brown (nee Kerr). She is predeceased by her first husband Jonas J. Guttormson and her second husband Herman M. Weber whose living children are Charles Weber (Judy) of PEI and Adrienne Wilson of Tampa Florida. Of her ten siblings she is survived by her dear brother John Brown; her daughter Darlene Tataryn (Douglas) and grandchildren, Benjamin (Akhaly), Alexandra, Thomas, Desta (Trevor); her son Garth Guttormson (Renate), and grandchildren, Mitchell and Jeffrey. She loved her many cousins, nieces and nephews, and her immediate and extended family was very important to her.
Margret was athletic, speed skating as a young girl, played women's baseball as a young woman and is named in the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame. She taught swimming for over 25 years as well as aerobics, and became a lifeguard. Margret was involved with North Kildonan Good Neighbours, recorder group, and started a Choir, and a Bike club. She took pride in a job well done and worked for the federal government Queens Printers as a multilith operator for many years. She loved the outdoors and going to the lake, and meeting up with her very dear friends. As a Grandma she was awesome, always instructive and enthusiastically taking her grandchildren swimming, tobogganing, walking the marsh, and to choir practice and more. As a woman, she passionately defended and stood up for what held meaning to her. Margret was a woman with integrity and was a moral compass for many.
In her words: "I have jumped off a train, and climbed three mountains. I have swum in deep water, survived near drowning, and I've been on a runaway horse." Her life was full. We are ever grateful for her guidance, her good heart, always ready to help when needed. We love her very much and will be holding close the many beautiful memories we have. She will be deeply missed and always remembered.
