MARIE CELINE FERNANDE HELLOFS
(TOUGAS)
June 15, 1934 - October 30, 2020

Peacefully, with dignity and spirit, our
beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Celine Hellofs passed in the
morning hours of October 30, 2020 at the St. Boniface Hospital.
Celine was predeceased by her husband Raymond (Ray) Hellofs a short seven months earlier on April 4, 2020. She was also predeceased by her father, Philias, her
mother Maria (Mousseau); her brothers, Georges, Noel, Jules and her sisters,
Antoinette Pepin, Juliette St. Jean and
Bernadette Bonneteau. Celine was also predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Hirmann.
Left to celebrate her life and cherish her memory, Celine's son Gilles Hirmann (Judy), granddaughter Taylor Jane, brothers, Isaie, Roger and Victor Tougas, sisters, Angele Dufresene, Louise Hendricken and many
nieces and nephews.
Celine had an interesting work career, teaching for many years at Giroux, Beleveau, Elm Grove, Lorette West, Precious Blood, Holy Cross and including Sacred Heart. Later in life, after retiring from teaching, Celine pursued other employment interests
including hair stylist and caregiver in home care. Celine was a giving, nurturing person who loved her family with heart and soul and cared for anyone who needed help.
When Celine's mother retired to the Villa Youville, Celine would visit often with her
sisters, Juliette and Louise. Many times, the rest of the family, Bernadette, Angele, Noel, Victor and Freda would join the visits which usually ended up in a lively family reunion with Noel leading the singsongs or religious hymns which Celine's Mom enjoyed very much.
Celine was always a lover of music passing many hours with family and friends playing the piano, organ and accordion, including fun get-togethers for rounds of Cribbage and Skip Bo that went into the early hours of the
morning.
Celine had a wonderful opportunity later in life to travel Europe with her soon to be
second husband Ray Hellofs. It was on that epic trip that Ray proposed to Celine and they came back engaged. They saw wonderful
places and met friends that they kept in touch for years after the trip ended.
Celine was committed to her family and friends and always ready for a visit, chat, hug, whatever you needed. She was a loving human being and will be deeply missed by us all.
Cremation has taken place. Due to Covid-19, a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer Society or to a charity of your choice in Celine's memory.

Goodbye my family,
my life is past.
I loved you all to the very last.
Weep not for me,
but courage take,
Love each other, for my sake.
For those you love
don't go away.
They walk beside you
Every day.

Je t'aime Maman
