EVELYN M. WALDERA
1924 - 2020

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn M. Waldera on October 28, 2020, at the age of 96.
Evelyn, daughter of the late William and Emma Stefaniuk, was born January 16, 1924 in Rhein, SK. She spent her childhood in Reddit, ON before moving to Winnipeg.
As a young lady, Evelyn worked at the front desk of the historic St. Regis Hotel. A passion of Evelyn's was betting on the horses, in the early days, at Assiniboia Downs. This is where she became acquainted with her future husband. Evelyn and Clarence Waldera were married in Winnipeg on September 30, 1967, before moving to Thief River Falls, MN, and Dickinson, ND. After Clarence's retirement, they returned to Winnipeg.
Evelyn was predeceased by husband, Clarence; brothers, Edward and Robert; sister-in-law, Rose, and companion, Al Harding. She is survived by sister-in-law, Lorraine Stefaniuk; nephews, Brian (Josie) and Bobby (Selma), niece, Alison Dow (Guy) and family.
Evelyn was a proud member of the Winnipeg Ostomy Association, and the South Winnipeg Optimist Club. Many hours were spent volunteering at meetings, conventions, and selling of the Grey Cup and Super Bowl tickets for fundraising. These two clubs became a close part of her life with the friendships she developed.

A Celebration of Life will be held next spring or summer as circumstances allow.
