MARGARET ELIZABETH ROSS
(BOSSUYT)
November 21, 1931 - December 5, 2020
Margaret grew up on dairy farms in Fort Garry and Oak Bluff, the eldest of seven children. At age 21, she married Roderick Ross and dedicated herself to building a happy home for her husband of 59 years and their three children, at which she succeeded superbly.
Margaret was a feisty and dignified woman with a wicked work ethic and a strong belief in doing things right or not at all. (Never squeeze the toothpaste in the middle of the tube and never put away a dirty shovel!) She had seemingly limitless energy and rarely sat down. Never one to take the easy way out, she was meticulous in everything she did - whether driving a grain truck, pruning a rosebush, or sewing a gown.
Margaret made friends easily and was an exceptional cook and avid gardener. She loved dancing with Rod, keeping a lovely home, and helping her friends and family.
An exceptionally active and strong woman well into her 80s, Margaret fought and won a battle with cancer in 2007. She again enjoyed perfect health until two catastrophic falls last year precipitated several periods of hospitalization and rapid decline.
Most of all, Margaret was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and sister who was greatly admired and will be always missed by the family who loved her dearly.
She is survived by her children, Patricia (Ron) Manness, Barbara (Joe) Czech and Kenneth (Sandra - her third "daughter") Ross. She had seven grandchildren, Jocelyn (Tim) Kitchur, Graeme (Adeena) Manness, Matthew (Lauren) Manness, Cara and Joshua Czech, Mitchell Ross and Kelsey (Kyle) Ridler; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband Roderick in 2012.
She is also survived by sisters, Joyce Dusik and Donna Burns; and by brothers, Lorne, John and Vic Bossuyt. She was predeceased by her parents, Archie and Marie Bossuyt; and by brother Connie.
Due to current pandemic restrictions, a service marking Margaret's life will be postponed until a later date.
