DIANNA SHIRLEY TILLOTSON
March 17, 1945 - December 5, 2020
She will lovingly be remembered by her husband of 51 years, Robert R. Tillotson; sons, Rob (Renee) and Steve (Jill); grandchildren, Owen and Cole (Steve), and Brielle and Danni (Rob). She will also forever be remembered by her brothers and sisters, Ernie (Anne), Stan (Sue Ann), Brenda (Wayne), Sandy (Pat), Peter (Janet), and Ralph (Kim).
Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Susanna Doerksen; and brother, John.
Shirley was born in Winnipeg, and raised in Steinbach, MB. She relocated to Winnipeg and trained as a hairdresser, and afterward practiced hairdressing for a number of years in Fort Rouge. She married Bob in 1969 and together they raised twin sons, Robert and Stephen, in Fort Richmond. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She enjoyed the outdoors working in her flower garden, and spent summers at the cottage in Wanasing Beach, and a few winter vacations in Hawaii, Cancun, and in Mission, Texas. Shirley loved family gatherings, and there was never a shortage of food, as she loved to cook and bake. She would make sure that people had plenty to eat, and often prepared Mennonite dishes taught to her by her mother.
In compliance with Shirley's wishes, no service will be held. Cremation has taken place, and the family will plan a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
A special thank you to her family physician Dr. Cam Lowden for Shirley's care, and to the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service for their quick and capable response, as well as doctors and nursing staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their attention to her needs.
