ELSIE KRAWITZ

With sadness, we announce that Elsie Krawitz passed away at Concordia Hospital on December 6, 2020, at the age of 84 years.
Survived by "her girls", daughters, Patricia and Elizabeth, always referred to as Pat and Leshia. Elsie was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Anna Wonsacz; and sister Olive. Earlier this summer in June, she was predeceased by Mike, her beloved husband of 61 years.
Elsie was born in Winnipeg on February 18, 1936. She married Mike in 1958, and they soon started their family. Elsie stayed home raising the girls. She was a proud homemaker, maintaining an immaculate home, and cooking wonderful homemade meals. Given a raw bone, Mom could create the most delicious soups, never looking at a recipe. Our house was always filled with homemade foods of holobchi, pyrohy, pickles, sauerkraut, and oven roasted meals. Mom always prepared elaborate holiday dinners for family and friends. Once the girls were old enough, in 1972 Mom returned to the workforce. She worked for the CIBC until her retirement.
Elsie loved to travel. With their young family, she and Mike would take the girls locally to Grand Beach for summer vacations. As the girls got older, they would pack up the car and head to the East and West Coasts, exploring the beauty of our country. Then there were family trips to Florida, and her favourite, Hawaii. Once she retired, she was introduced to Las Vegas, and that trip became an annual adventure with Mike and the girls.
Mom was always supportive of her girls. She always stepped up to the plate to help them during illnesses and tough times. And she was the best grandma to the fur babies, her beloved Goldie, Barclay, Oscar and Jazz.

Mom, we miss you dearly. The horrible, endless pain and suffering you endured is finally over. We are comforted in knowing that Mom and tato are together again.

In respect of Mom's wishes, there will be no formal service. Cremation has taken place, and a private family graveside service was held.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Elsie may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, the Humane Society, or a charity of your choice.

Mom, spread your wings and fly.
Pain free. In our hearts you hold a place
that no one else can ever fill.

WE WILL MISS YOU FOREVER

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Family, so precious, sad to lose someone we love at any time but especially hard during these difficult days. Elsie was my mother’s sister’s daughter, my cousin. Grandparents and parents who worked hard, instilling in us values, morals, stories of long ago left us to continue their legacy and now our original family becomes smaller still. The greatest legacy that Elsie and her husband Mike leave behind is in their two daughters, Liz and Pat. May their family life story never fade. Reflect on the days of happier times and may the love and support of family and friends carry you through as you mourn the loss of your beloved mother. Deepest sympathies, cousin Geri 💕 - Posted by: Geri Murash (Relative) on: Dec 14, 2020
