KHAMSING KHOUNSOMBAT

It is with sadness that we announce the death of a cherished husband, father, grandfather, Khamsing Khounsombat, 79, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, who passed away with his family by his side (virtually) on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home.
Lovingly remembered by his surviving family, his wife Chansamone, and his six children, Chanthasone Khounsombat, Xay Khounsombat, Sonedary Leskovjan (Joe) (Jessica) (Ryanna), Nyphavanh Brodie (Scott), (Calista), (Noah), (Callum), Kanyasack Khounsombat, and Akhaly Tataryn (Ben).
Khamsing Khounsombat was born on April 9, 1941 in (Thaluang) Pakse, Laos to Chou and Phanh Khounsombat. He graduated from Lao IRDA, Law School. On January 6, 1968, he married Chansamone Thavonekham. He arrived with his young family in Canada, on February 18, 1980 and settled in St. Malo, Manitoba, Canada before moving to St. Norbert, Manitoba, Canada, where he made it his permanent residence. Dad was a loving husband, father to his children and grandchildren. He was loved by many who knew him. He would light up a room with his charismatic and strong personality. He was a humbled, hardworking, proud, generous and humorous man. He lived his life with amazing strength and courage and instilled these traditional values in us.
We would like to sincerely thank the staff at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home that provided support to him and to our family during dad's last year.
A Buddhist funeral service will be held privately on December 21, 2020 at 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be livestreamed on the Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home Facebook page for those wishing to attend virtually: https://www.facebook.com/Thomson-In-the-Park-Funeral-Home-and-Cemetery-1934981230093053/.
