I think of Joan often, like today while playing In the Bleak Midwinter and remembering Joan giving me the music for our duet even coming over to our home to practice. Joan was inclusive and vibrant and loved music, gifts she shared. I believe your flame will never go out Joan, it is beautiful and glorifies God. Always missed. - Posted by: Liz (Fellow misician) on: Dec 01, 2022

To Kim and family, we are profoundly sorry for your loss. Your mum was a wonderful, caring woman. We would often see her sitting in her sunroom, listening to music or a Sunday service. She was very understanding of our special needs boys and never complained about our youngest tossing his toys into her yard. She always wanted to know how we were doing and was always thankful for the smallest of gestures. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to ask. When I arrived at Westwood Presbyterian, Joan was our very dynamic music leader. She worked so hard to make our worship spiritually enriched. I remember our time together with delight and thankfulness. Christmas was always a highlight in musical celebration for us. Kim may you and your boys experience the comfort of Emmanuel. I was so shocked and saddened by hearing of Joan's passing. I only knew her as the choir leader at North Kildonan United Church, but enjoyed her music and dedication to the church, even during such trying times. Please accept my sincerest condolences to all her family, especially her daughter Kim, whom I also know from the church and appreciate her dedication as well. Heaven will be welcoming another musical angel to help with the heavenly choirs. - Posted by: Joan Knowles (friend) on: Dec 19, 2020
