RONALD (RON) JOHN BUNIO

Ron passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 after a brief battle with a bleed-out from Eliquis and COVID lung infection. Ron was made comfortable by the doctors and staff at the Grace Hospital. Thanks to Dr. Ramadam for his courage and sensitive choice of words that helped in accepting the end of life plan. Ron also spent weeks at St. Boniface Hospital where Dr. Konrad and team helped to diagnosis the Dementia with Lewy Bodies and RBD sleep behavior disorder and Hypersomnia and Prostrate Bladder problems. Special thanks to all at both hospitals for their care during Ron's final chapter in life.
His wife Wendy will honour his request for cremation and internment at Glen Eden Cemetery on Main Street. No viewing or open services due to COVID. Special thanks to Miguel Foidart of Glen Eden Funeral Home for his patience, kindness and responding to the multitude of emails.

  • Our condolences to Wendy and Ron’s family I cannot remember a time when Ron was not a part of my life! We did not see each other often, but always enjoyed the visits of Ron and his family at the farms in Walkleyburg. He was very kind to me when I moved into Winnipeg, and started working in the city! Through the years my husband and I saw Ron, who especially enjoyed visits with my Dad, John, as they were both interested in family history and family trees. They would scour the paper work for hours. After Ron met Wendy, we did not see as much of him, as he busied himself with work and family. Rest in peace Ron! Deepest sympathies, Jane & Brian - Posted by: Jane & Brian Schledewitz ( Cousin) on: Dec 23, 2020

  • Rest in Peace Uncle Ron. Thanks for all the great memories of family gatherings at the Bunio's and teaching to enjoy watching the game of golf. - Posted by: Terry Bunio (Nephew) on: Dec 23, 2020

  • Godspeed Uncle Ron. I remember wonderful Christmases at 592 Pritchard. Condolences Wendy... - Posted by: Gary Bunio (Nephew) on: Dec 23, 2020

  • My condolences to Wendy. Ron and I both started grade 10 at St. John's High School. We both played football for Russ Pastuck's Tigers. Ron always seemed to have a serious look on his face until you started talking to him. Then, he warmed up. The last time i remember seeing him was at the high school graduation as he walked into the gym all attired and smiling. We put in our years of leaning and our future awaits us. Remembered and not forgotten. Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Colin Dederick (class mate) on: Dec 23, 2020
