EMILY ROGOCKI

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Emily Rogocki has to announce her sudden passing.
Emily was born at home through a midwife in Glenmoor, MB and she had five siblings who were all raised on a farm with plenty of chores. Her early experiences on that farm helped to craft a work ethic that she carried through her whole life, as Emily rarely had an idle day.
She leaves to mourn, her son Chad; sisters, Irene Kalinski (Walter), Chris Rogocki, Cindy Rogocki (Ken); and her only brother Dennis Rogocki (Elisabeth); as well as her brother-in-law Murray Marzoff. She was predeceased by her parents, Nick and Jean Rogocki; and her sister Pauline Marzoff. Also left to mourn, are many nieces, nephews and countless friends, neighbours, and workmates.
Emily's early life as an adult was challenging, as she left the farm to pursue employment in Winnipeg at the tender age of 16. At 21, she became a single mother to her son Chad, whom she cherished with all her heart. Her love for her son was always reciprocated, as he would remain by her side into even those sad final moments. Thankfully, Emily did not suffer for a lengthy duration, and she was able to remain active in life right up until just a couple of weeks before her illness finally took her.
Mom's employment history was varied, but she always earned her way. She stayed at her final job at Kitchen Craft for 20 years, and it gave her the skills and confidence required to take on building and renovation projects in her own life. Being productive and making her world better was a daily goal for her.
During her life, she lived in various parts of Winnipeg, and her homes were always clean, and well kept. Her final residence was in West St. Paul with her loving son. Emily was truly happy in that home, and the look of joy on her face became constant in her final years. Her days were always occupied doing something she enjoyed. She became an avid gardener who made her part of the world the best place she could. Emily's final summer consisted of painting benches, planting flowers, vegetables, trees, and fortifying the yard against rabbits.
In her last conversation, she said that she would be OK, but she was tired of being sick. We hope that she is OK now, and she has lots of friends in heaven to give her a warm welcome, and make sure that she has something to do there because she did not like to be bored. She said that she wanted to go to the casino with Auntie Chris and her dear friend Louise Liebrecht. She just wanted to hang out with her friends and be silly once again, to be able to laugh again and feel the joy of life.
The loss of Emily has left a hole in the hearts of many. Those of us left behind will forever love and miss her, but we understand that the pain was just too unbearable for even someone as tough as her. Her integrity will always be remembered by those of us who had the honour of knowing her. Her life mattered to those who knew her, because if she loved you, you knew you were blessed with someone who always put your needs above her own. She was the best mother, sister, or friend a person could ever hope for.

Thank you for enriching our lives the way you did Emily, you made our lives better.
May God bless you and keep you safe.
We love you more than you'll ever know.
