RALPH COLISTRO

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ralph Colistro, on December 21, 2020.
Ralph has been released from our arms on earth to be welcomed by his predeceased wife Alba.
Ralph will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Christine Therrien, Pat Vergata, and Dina Bector (Harvey); grandchildren, Corey Brezinski (Ashlee), Samantha Therrien, Bianca and Kiana Vergata, Kalan and Sean Bector; great-grandson Cannon Brezinski; and many nieces and nephews.
Ralph was born in Grimaldi, Italy on
January 8, 1933. He immigrated to Winnipeg in 1950 and starting working at McGavins
Bakery where he remained for 42 years. Once retired, he continued his passion for baking pizzas, pasta and breads.
We will all miss the values Ralph has instilled in us and will forever carry on his stories and remember his strong will, his love of the outdoors, animals, and gardening.
We would like to thank the staff of Vista Park Lodge for caring for Ralph over the last 19 months.
Due to Covid restrictions, private funeral services will be held.
Those who wish may view the service on the Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home Facebook page on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 10:00 am: https://www.facebook.com/

  • Dear Chris, Pat and Dina, I just learned of your dad's passing. I always loved your dad and remember fondly our private jokes. He was a really good man and you were lucky to call him your dad. I hope all three of you are doing well. Joanne - Posted by: Joanne Veltri (Relative ) on: Aug 21, 2021

  • I was so very sad to hear of Ralph's passing. My late wife and I had very fond memories of Ralph and Alba. When we first arrived in Canada. they were there for us and were of great help as we found ourselves in a new country. • Dearest Chris, Pat, Dina and loving family. So sorry to hear of your sweet dad Ralph's passing. I will always remember his sweet little face. It is a pleasure knowing all the Italians are with their loved ones up in heaven, gardening, playing bocce, making wine, eating and dancing together once again! Love always Carla Munroe (Grestoni) and family. I'm sure the service yesterday was lovely. - Posted by: Carla Munroe (Long time friend) on: Dec 30, 2020

  • Dear Christine, Pat and Dina, Sincere sympathy for the loss of your Dad. I have many happy memories from days gone by. Bingo nights with Alba and Ralph sending me home with his wonderful baking. And, of course, there were the many parties throughout the years with the Fiorino and Carvelli families. Ralph's little girls were dressed up so pretty for the parties, he was so proud of you girls. God bless all of you at this very sad time. Sincerely, Geri Carvelli - Posted by: Geraldine Carvelli (Long-time Friend) on: Dec 26, 2020

  • Christine, Pat and Dina, Please accept our condolences on the passing of your father. He was always very kind, friendly and respectful towards members of the Conci family. Ralph or Lello as we called him was a true friend to my parents. I'm sure you will miss him. Baci to all of you. John and Louise Conci - Posted by: john conci (friend) on: Dec 26, 2020

  • Dear Christine, Pat and Dina, We were so sorry to hear the passing of your dear Father Ralph (Lello). I know that this is a sad time for your family. The memories that you have will be treasured. Compari Lello was a great man, father, grandfather and a dear close friend to my father. I will never forget when my father told me that when he first arrived in Winnipeg, Compari Lello was at the train station to greet his best friend. He will be sadly missed, but I know he will not be alone and that they are all celebrating together and they are at peace. Take care and bless you all.
