OLGA PAWLUK
(nee KOTYLUK)
February 5, 1925 - December 23, 2020

Peacefully, on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Olga Pawluk, aged 95 years, passed away.
Olga was predeceased by her husband Walter and sons, Wally and Brian.
Olga was born and raised in the Garland area of Manitoba, daughter of Philip and Catherine Kotyluk. She was the youngest of eight siblings and helped on the family farm before coming to Winnipeg. She met Walter and the young couple began married life in Gonor, Manitoba amidst her new, extended Pawluk family.
Working in the city and homemaking in the country were exciting challenges that Olga accepted and enjoyed. Her likeable character was nurtured by love of community, friends and relatives. She was an active member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and her faith always sustained her through difficult times in her life.
All who knew Olga remember someone who put others first. She was reluctant to draw attention to herself, but was always willing to support those in need. Her humour, compassion and genuine empathy contributed greatly to the pleasant person one would enjoy being with. She lived alone after the loss of her immediate family, but her warm heart was always an open invitation for the company of others.
When her health began to falter, Olga remained positive. She was particularly concerned that those who assisted her be recognized for their efforts. Family, friends and neighbours, home care workers, doctors and nurses all became part of her loving circle. She was particularly appreciative for the care that she received from the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital. She felt that she was never forgotten as isolation protocols were put in place. It was always easy to be her friend.
Olga was laid to rest with her family in St. Nicolas Church cemetery. Respecting Covid-19 regulations, a private service and interment has taken place.
