JANINA SZALAWILO
(nee SAJDAK)
She was born on December 15, 1925 in Poland. Janina met and married her husband, Michael in Germany. They later moved to South America and finally immigrated to Canada in October 1958. They have two daughters.
Janina is predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years in 2005; her son-in-law Michael Klimchak in 2002 and her brother-in-law Franciszek Mazur in 2015.
Janina is survived by her two daughters, Jean Klimchak and Julie (Daniel) Mazzon; grandchildren, Sonya (Mark) Galarnyk, Donna (Darren) Nowosad, Peter (Larissa) Klimchak and Paula (Trevor) McGinn, Stephanie (Steven) Mazzon and Michael Mazzon; her sister Maria Mazur and nephew Jan (Loreen); and many relatives in Poland and Ukraine.
Mom loved to garden, cook and shared many friendships. Perogies and cabbage rolls will never be the same. She loved the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private funeral has taken place at Green Acres Funeral Home with Fr. M. Gnutel as the officiant. Thank you to all the nursing staff at Park Manor. Janina appreciated all the care you provided and spoke highly of you.
Wife, Mom, Bapchi – We love you and we will miss you so much. We will never forget you. VICHNAYA PAMYAT.
